The 37th Ordinary General Assembly of Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association (THBB), which has been endeavoring for more than 36 years to produce concrete in accordance with the standards in Turkey and to ensure correct concrete applications in construction, was held in Istanbul on April 27, 2024. Expressing that the dynamo of the construction sector will be urban transformation and the renewal of the building stock in our country, THBB President Yavuz Işık said that the ready mixed concrete sector has made a substantial contribution to the construction sector and accordingly to the country's economy with its turnover of 94 billion Turkish liras, employment volume reaching 40 thousand, and annual production of 105 million cubic meters according to 2022 data, and that it continues its leadership in Europe.
At the General Assembly, Gülfem Atasayar was unanimously elected as the Chair of the Council, Ali Fuat Yazıcı as the Vote Counting Officer, and Ali Rıza Tekin as the Clerk Member. Following a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, the discussion of the items on the agenda started.
In his speech at the General Assembly, Yavuz Işık, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association (THBB), said, "Our Association has been working for the development of the ready mixed concrete sector since the day it was founded. Our Association, which has set a quality bar for ready mixed concrete producers with its membership criteria, has become an important sectoral organization that represents ready mixed concrete producers on national and international platforms through its studies."
