Turkish ready-mixed and prefabricated concrete company “ISTON”, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, was awarded with the “CSC Certificate" at the level "Gold" for its Hadımköy Plant.
ISTON Hadımköy Plant has been certified in Turkey in accordance with the “CSC Certification System” by the Turkish Ready-Mixed Concrete Association (THBB), Regional System Operator of the CSC. The certificate at the level “Gold” has been issued by the Economic Enterprise of KGS, Certification Body of the CSC.
An official ceremony was held on 2nd June 2020 in Istanbul to present this certificate. The Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem Imamoğlu, President of the Board of Directors of European Ready-Mixed Concrete Organization (ERMCO) and THBB Yavuz Işık, General Manager of İSTON Ziya Gökmen Togay, THBB Secretary General Aslı Özbora Tarhan, KGS Director Selçuk Uçar and invited guests attended the ceremony. This certificate was presented to the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem Imamoğlu and General Manager of ISTON Ziya Gökmen Togay by ERMCO and THBB President Yavuz Işık at this ceremony.
At the ceremony, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem Imamoğlu said, “All colleagues have worked very meticulously, and they have done what has been necessary. ERMCO and THBB President Yavuz Işık expressed also how important it is to get the CSC certicate at the level ‘Gold’. This is the result of a long-term work. For about 1 year, our colleagues have managed this period very well. We are happy to receive the reward of this meticulousness. This certificate has increased the responsibility of ISTON.”
Mr. Yavuz Işık, President of the Board of Directors of European Ready-Mixed Concrete Organization (ERMCO) and THBB, said, “CSC offers a model for the CSC Certification for concrete and its supply chain, cement and aggregates. With this certification system, our industry has achieved a worldwide accepted model that improves its sustainability performance. So far, 587 licenses have been sold to companies worldwide and 360 plants have been certified in 4 years. In Turkey, 4 cement and 5 concrete plants have been certified by this system. ISTON, the member of our Association, which is entitled to receive the CSC Certificate, has taken its place in this success story getting the certificate at ‘Gold’ level, which is currently the highest certificate level.”
