Yavuz Işık, President of Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association, who made a statement on the earthquakes with the magnitude of 7,6, the epicenter of which was in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş, at 04.17, and of 7,7, the epicenter of which was in the Elbistan district of Kahramanmaraş, at 13.24, on February 6, 2023, said, “Earthquake is a disaster type that ranks first in terms of loss of life and property in our country. Approximately 60% of the losses of life experienced due to disasters arise from earthquakes. As we do not know the location, time, and magnitude of earthquakes precisely, we can prevent new sufferings by urgently renewing risky structures.”
